BASC
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC)is the representative body for sporting shooting and is the largest Fieldsports organisation in the UK with more than 106,000 members and growing. We represent and safeguard all shooting sports. Our main area of expertise is in live quarry shooting, conservation and land management, training, firearms law, setting of standards and political lobbying
We believe you have the right to private firearms ownership for sporting purposes. We work closely with the police and government to achieve this objective.
We want to ensure you have the opportunity to go shooting. We do this by regularly updating our extensive and growing network of clubs, syndicates, airgun clubs and clay grounds who will help you find somewhere to shoot.
We need to ensure that if you wish to shoot live quarry you can, but legally, safely and responsibly. This is achieved by working in partnership with Government to safeguard shooting seasons and with our members and other conservation organisations to manage and conserve the habitats over which they shoot, which in turn will encourage healthy quarry populations.
We ensure shooting sports have a fair and balanced hearing in
the media. Public opinion is important, and we need to ensure
that all types of shooting are seen for what they are safe, fun
and well run!
We have a great deal to offer!
